Welcome To The Hop Vine
The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. To the rear of the building in our historic Cobbled Garden you will find our own brewery housed in the stables which were used for the horses and stage coaches as they passed through the village. From Ales to YPA’s, to Blonde beers we are a small producer using primary English hops brewing exclusively in house for The Hop Vine and our sister pub the Legh Arms.
Our countryside sister the Legh Arms is our latest addition to the family and is situated in the pretty hamlet of Mere Brow. Here we serve our trademark delicious home produced quality food and excellent home brewed ales. Your hosts Mike & Julie and their superb team bring a wealth of experience in the trade and have sourced the best in the local area to tempt you. Whether it be ales, fine wines, lagers, steak or fish we welcome you to sit back relax and enjoy the fruits of the area.

Jenni Eckersley recommends The Hop Vine
"I was there for the opening night after lockdown. Great organisation and lovely food. Staff did a great job of making you feel welcome whilst also keeping their distance. It wasn't overcrowded and they were very accommodating when we asked if we could stay a little longer. For anyone concerned about going out, it was an enjoyable and safe experience!"
